Geriatric Cognitive Rehabilitation

What is Geriatric Cognitive Rehabilitation?

As people grow older, they may experience changes in memory, attention, thinking abilities, problem-solving, and emotional well-being. While some cognitive changes are a normal part of ageing, others may indicate conditions such as Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI), dementia, stroke-related cognitive changes, Parkinson's disease, or other neurological disorders.

Early assessment and intervention play an important role in maintaining independence, preserving cognitive abilities, and improving quality of life.

At The Mind Healing, we provide comprehensive cognitive assessment, memory evaluation, neuropsychological testing, cognitive rehabilitation, counselling, and psychotherapy to help older adults maintain optimal cognitive and emotional health.

What We Provide at The Mind Healing

A structured, evidence-based pathway from assessment through to rehabilitation, counselling, and long-term cognitive and emotional health.

01

Cognitive Assessment & Memory Evaluation

As we age, changes in memory and thinking abilities can occur naturally. However, persistent forgetfulness, confusion, difficulty concentrating or changes in problem-solving may sometimes indicate an underlying neurological or medical condition. At The Mind Healing, our comprehensive geriatric cognitive assessment evaluates memory, cognition and overall brain functioning to distinguish normal age-related changes from conditions such as Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI), dementia, stroke-related cognitive changes and other neurological disorders.

Using standardised, evidence-based assessment tools, we identify cognitive strengths and areas requiring support, enabling early diagnosis, personalised intervention and better long-term planning. Our assessments also help families understand an individual's cognitive abilities and guide treatment, rehabilitation and day-to-day care.

Our Assessment Includes

  • Memory assessment (short-term, long-term and working memory)
  • Learning and recall evaluation
  • Attention and concentration
  • Orientation and awareness
  • Language and communication abilities
  • Executive functioning and problem-solving
  • Processing speed and cognitive flexibility
  • Visual-spatial skills
